Kennedy Blades continues middleweight dominance at RAF 13

MIAMI, Fla. — Kennedy Blades dominated to maintain her undefeated record and the middleweight title, securing a technical fall victory at Real American Freestyle (RAF) 13 on Friday, Sept. 18, at the Watsco Center in Miami. Jason Nolf successfully defended his middleweight title with a narrow decision.

Blades extended her RAF record to 6-0 with her sixth win by technical fall under the promotion, this time a 12-0 victory over Diana Avsaragova. Blades, a 2024 Olympic silver medalist and 2025 World bronze medalist, dominated Avsaragova from the opening whistle, piling on 12 points in the first round to finish the match early. Blades has yet to surrender a point in any of her RAF appearances and continues her reign over the middleweight division.

Nolf, a three-time NCAA champion at Penn State, scored a narrow 7-6 victory over Julian Ramirez on Friday to retain the middleweight belt. After taking a 4-2 lead in the first period, Nolf blanked Ramirez in the second frame to carry a 7-2 advantage into the final round. Ramirez did not go out quietly and scored a four-point throw in the third period. Despite Ramirez’s late effort, Nolf held on for the victory, marking his second title defense and improving his RAF record to 7-1.

Chance Marsteller dazzled in his RAF debut, securing an 8-6 victory over the reigning 79 kg World champion, Georgios Kougioumtsidis of Greece. Trailing 6-2 with just over 90 seconds left in the final period, Marsteller stayed composed and scored a takedown to cut the deficit to 6-4. He then earned another takedown, followed by an exposure, with less than 30 seconds remaining to grab the 8-6 lead. He held on for the victory over his Greek opponent and made his presence known in the cruiserweight division.

Jacori Teemer also made his RAF debut in style, earning a 9-6 win over 2012 Olympian Haji Aliyev of Azerbaijan in the lightweight clash. Teemer used a reversal in each of the first two periods to build a 5-0 lead. Aliyev persisted, scoring a takedown and a gut wrench to narrow Teemer’s advantage to 5-4 heading into the final round. In the third period, Teemer wasted no time, using a takedown and a gut wrench of his own to extend his lead to 9-4. Aliyev scored two points before the final whistle, but Teemer’s performance proved too much, and the American closed the match with a three-point victory.

Cayden Henschel claimed the title in the featherweight crossover match, outlasting Johnni DiJulius by a 7-2 decision. In the high-scoring welterweight showdown between Bryce Meredith and Movlid Khaybulaev, Meredith defeated Khaybulaev 17-13.

Other winners on the night included Arsen Harutyunyan, Timur Bizhoev, Mugzy, Cesar Alvan, Joe Pyfer, Khamzat Chimaev and Colby Covington.
