Watch: RHOSLC’s Mary Cosby Shares Devastating Tribute to Son Robert Days After His Death
Angie Katsanevas is marveling at Mary Cosby’s strength.
Months after the pastor’s son Robert Cosby Jr. died at the age of 23, Angie spoke out about how Mary guided her Real Housewives of Salt Lake City costars through their grief.
“I think Mary has not only taught the women, but now sharing with the rest of the world that she’s very strong,” Angie told E! News in an exclusive interview. “She is inspiring in the way that she looks at faith and what a homegoing looks like and that we return home and it’s to somewhere better and more beautiful. And in a way, she was carrying us.”
Robert Jr.—whom Mary shared with her husband Robert Cosby Sr.—was found dead on Feb. 23 after officers “responded to a possible overdose,” a spokesperson for the Salt Lake City Police Department told E! News at the time.
The medical examiner is still investigating the cause of death.
Following the tragedy, Angie—mom to 15-year-old daughter Elektra with estranged husband Shawn Trujillo—shared that grief quickly overcame the RHOSLC ladies.
“We all wept for her as mothers, and her strength was part of what helped us get through this and the fact that she could lean on us,” she added. “And, you know, we let her, and she accepted our love and our support. And Mary was just a true inspiration.”
Indeed, the 53-year-old encouraged her costars to leaned on their faith during the dark chapter.

“She is obviously a leader of her church and a mother and a wife,” Angie explained. “She was comforting others, she was sharing words of wisdom to help others get through this difficult time and [reminding] people, you know, that we go home.”
“In the orthodox faith, when someone passes, it’s dealt with so differently and with so much grief and sadness,” she continued. “And I learned that there was a more beautiful way of looking at this time to transition to a better place and to go home to God.”
Angie added, “She gave us comfort in her strength.”
And she’s doing the same for fans of the show, who got more insight into Mary’s heartbreaking new chapter during the show’s season seven premiere on Sept. 16.

“I read something today on the Internet that said, ‘Thank you to this show and to Bravo, because I’ve been through something like this.’ And they said, ‘Now I don’t feel alone,’” Angie recalled. “Her and Robert and their story is reaching so many people, and it’s pretty special.”
The 52-year-old added, “She’s an amazing, strong woman. I can’t say it enough.”
