Nintendo expanded its GameCube line-up on Nintendo Switch Online this week with the addition of Star Fox Adventures, the divisive 2002 adventure title from developer Rare.

It’s been a heck of a busy week, but we thought it wise to let you know that Star Fox Adventures is one of a handful of GameCube titles that offers native widescreen presentation. F-Zero GX and SoulCalibur II, also available as part of Nintendo Switch Online, offers this option for players too.

To activate it, simply navigate to the options tab via the main menu, which will be accompanied by Peppy Hare. The widescreen option will be right there under ‘Screen Ratio’, so just choose which one you want.

The announcement for Star Fox Adventures on NSO was preceded by a free update for Star Fox, which adds new Battle Mode stages and split-screen options, with the choice to play with up to four players on a single system. This will be added on 30th September 2026.

This was just one announcement in what was a jam-packed Nintendo Direct. Highlights include Metroid Ravenous, Kirby and the World Beyond, Pikmin 4 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Dandori Academy, and more.
