Following the latest financial update last week, Nintendo and The Pokémon Company have now officially announced Pokémon Pokopia has sold more than five million units globally in “just over four months”.

According to the official press release, this includes all of the “physical and digital versions”. Pokémon Pokopia was made available in-store as a Game-Key Card (requiring a download) and digitally via the eShop, and launched for the Switch 2 on 5th March 2026.

This follows the recent rollout of Version 2.0.0, which included free content such as the new move Dive. Alongside this, the paid Expansion Pass DLC ‘Bubbly Basin‘ was also released, giving players access to a whole new underwater area.

The first paid DLC will be followed by ‘Part 2‘ in “late 2026” – adding additional features, and ‘Part 3‘ in 2027 – adding an additional new town. This, combined with future updates, and even a Switch 2 bundle, should help maintain sales momentum going forward.

If you haven’t already played this title, we said it was the freshest Pokémon experience in a long time, and bursting at the seams with charm and content that rewards both curiosity and creativity.
