Watch: Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Prison Release Date Moved Up Amid 4-Year Sentence

Sean “Diddy” Combs is spending some alone time in prison.

As the rap mogul continues to serve his four-year sentence for prostitution-related charges, he was sent to solitary confinement after being involved in a fight at the New Jersey federal prison, according to multiple outlets citing sources with knowledge of the matter.

The altercation allegedly occurred when another inmate at Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institution made a remark to Combs, leading to the fight and the rapper’s subsequent placement in solitary confinement, one source told ABC News.

E! News has reached out to reps for Combs and Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institution for comment and has not yet heard back.

A rep for the low-security prison has indicated they would not be providing additional information about the incident.

“We are not at liberty to disclose or provide internal information pertaining to any inmate in our custody,” the spokesperson said in a statement to TMZ. “Such information would not be available for the public domain.”

The fight comes more than one month after the 56-year-old’s release date was moved up for the fourth time, according to Federal Bureau of Prisons records viewed by E! News. While he was initially set to be released May 8, 2028, his timeline was most recently updated to Feb. 23, 2028.

Combs was transferred to Fort Dix from New York’s Metropolitan Detention Center in late October after facing a seven-week sex trafficking trial in 2025, during which a jury found him guilty on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. (He was acquitted on sex trafficking and racketeering charges.)

The Bad Boy Records founder’s time behind bars has been a stark contrast to his lavish lifestyle. Case in point: a lackluster menu for his 56th birthday in November. Indeed, his choices included bran flakes or toast for breakfast, a chickpea burger or chicken parmesan for lunch and cheese pizza, according to the prison’s food menu obtained by People.

Although Combs continues to adjust to life in prison, his kids—Quincy Brown, 34, Christian Combs, 27, and 19-year-old twins D’Lila Combs and Jessie Combs with Kim Porter, as well as Justin Combs, 31, with ex Misa Hylton, Chance Combs, 19, with Sarah Chapman and 3-year-old Love Combs with Dana Tran—have remained his guiding light.

And the feeling is mutual, with Jessie telling Entertainment Tonight in a joint interview with her twin earlier this month, “We definitely are very close and he gives the best advice.”

“He’s always going to be there and he’s always going to tell us the right answers,” she added. “He’s literally like never wrong. Like everything that he has told us about this, it’s been so helpful.”

Prosecutors Seek to Streamline Charges Against Sean “Diddy” CombsThe prosecution submitted a filing to court, in which they requested to amend parts of their theories of attempted arson and kidnapping.Although Combs is still facing the same racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking counts—which include the kidnapping and arson allegations—prosecutors wrote in the June 24 letter they had “removed instructions from the charge relating to attempted kidnapping under both California and New York law, attempted arson under California law, and aiding and abetting sex trafficking.”The government added that it “hopes” simplifying the language “not only serves the purposes of streamlining the instructions but also will avoid any confusion.”

Cassie Ventura and Sean “Diddy” Combs’s Texts About His Alleged Abuse Revealed Jurors were shown a series of text messages between Combs and Ventura, during which the “Long Way 2 Go” singer candidly detailed the toll his alleged abuse was taking on her. Judge Cancels Court on Day 26 of Sean “Diddy” Combs Trial Over Sick JurorJudge Subramanian adjourned the courtroom for the day on June 18 after a member of the main jury did not return due to illness.
