Watch: Jenny Mollen Says Jason Biggs Relationship Is “Still Romantic” After Breakup
Jenny Mollen doesn’t get what the big deal was.
After a post she made featuring her and estranged husband Jason Biggs’ 12-year-old son Sid caused controversy over its caption—which read, “Your eldest son will be the most toxic man you ever date”—Mollen reflected on why the post went the bad kind of viral.
“I think they thought that maybe the hug looked lascivious,” she told Amanda Hirsch on the June 23 episode of Not Skinny But Not Fat. “I’m not sure. I don’t think they liked the caption, ‘Toxic.’ I think toxic got in some sort of algorithm search and you’re probably reading about like being like abused and then you see this woman like embracing her son and they’re just like, ‘What the f–k?’”
“They couldn’t handle it,” Mollen—who also suspected that the Facebook audience reacted more harshly than her Instagram followers—continued. “It threw them over the edge.”
Instead, the 47-year-old emphasized that this is not the first time she’s made a joke about her kids ruling the house (in 2022, for instance, she released an entire cookbook dedicated to her “dictator lunches” bit, which was her way of comically describing the special foods she needed to whip up to appease her picky sons).

“This is the joke I’ve been making forever,” Mollen—who is also mom to 8-year-old son Lazlo with Biggs—emphasized. “I’m in this dysfunctional relationship with like a guy who’s like, ‘Can you hold my head while I like vomit into the toilet? Can you give me a full body massage before bed? Can you be a dear and put more ice in my water bottle?’ Like this is the treatment.”
Or, as she put it, “Use and abuse me. And I’m still like, ‘Is he going to call?’ Like I was never that girl. I’ve never been in that kind of relationship.”
She also said that it’s Sid, not her, that initiates their close bond.

“By the way, if you knew my son, like he’s really the predator, not me,” Mollen joked. “He’s the one who’s f—king all over me. I’ve been like trying to like lock him out of the bathroom for like the last 12 years. He just wants my undivided attention.”
As for how Biggs responded to the controversy, Mollen—who emphasized elsewhere during the podcast that they remain on good terms after their split—said the American Pie alum had come over to comfort her and offered to say something on her behalf.
“Of course, like I don’t want that,” she said. “I want to stand—you know me, like have I ever kept my mouth shut about anything I believe in? I go so hard.”
