The ongoing feud between US Champion Trick Williams and Baron Corbin is escalating on this week’s SmackDown, as General Manager Nick Aldis has announced the two will face each other in a Steel Cage match this Friday in Indianapolis.
Taking to X, the GM made the announcement, claiming that resolution is no longer an option, only escalation. As a result, the two superstars who’ve traded wins – and the belt -over the course of this feud will meet each other in the match that definitely prevents any interference from outside parties, so we’ll see who comes out on top.
Trick’s already got plenty on his plate – given he just qualified for the Money in the Bank match at the upcoming PPV, so that somewhat explains why they’re not waiting until then for this title match. Could it be an indicator then of Trick potentially being successful in MITB allowing him to go on to other challenges further up the card, or could it also set up Corbin to cost him the briefcase, depending on how the cage match goes?
