At gamescom 2026, Kabam and Herobeat Studios revealed a brand-new gameplay trailer for Wilderings that unveiled a fiery new Volcanic biome, a first look at Röhe the Moth Boss, and the confirmation that the open-world action-adventure game will be launching its Version 1.0 update in spring 2027.
Wilderings, which also encourages exploration and features fast-paced action, roguelite progression, and creature collecting, follows Abi and her companion Rif as they traverse a fractured world that is quickly being consumed by darkness.
To help in her journey, she will discover and adopt mysterious creatures known as Hântu, which she can use to help her fight, get through tough spots with their abilities, and to move about the world. In this new Volcanic biome, Abi will run into at least three Hântu, Razzle (explosive projectiles that burn and multiply), Mokul (summons pyroclastic rain that scorches an area), and Furioso (throws magma that spreads between enemies). As for Röhe, this Moth Boss is actually a young hunter from the Frostlands who will challenge Abi in this new region. To make it through the test set in a “magma-lit arena,” Abi will have to perfet her movement, combat skills, and Hântu abilities. For those at gamescom, Wilderings: The Lost Spring will be available to play at the Indie Arena Booth, Hall 10.2 Booth F010g – E019, from August 26-30.Wilderings: The Lost Spring ImagesFor more, check out everything announced from Opening Night Live and what else to expect from the rest of gamescom.Adam Bankhurst is a writer for IGN.
