Watch: Why ‘The Pitt’ Star Katherine LaNasa Really Wants to Delete Season One
Katherine LaNasa wishes she could scrub the first season of The Pitt.
As theHBO star attended the Emmy Awards 2026—hosted by Law & Order: SVU‘s Mariska Hargitay at Los Angeles’ Peacock Theater Sept. 14—she shared that the surprising revelation about wanting to do her debut season over came after watching back her work, which ultimately earned her a win for Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Drama Series in 2025.
“I just meant that I can’t see myself. I was so surprised that I got nominated the first season,” LaNasa exclusively told Justin Sylvester during Live from E!: 2026 Emmys, adding with a laugh, “If it was an audition tape, I would have been like, ‘Eh, it was okay.’ You know, I think I feel like that when I look at myself.”
As such, the actress added that whether or not she won for the second time in a row—an honor that ultimately went to Allison Janney for her work in The Diplomat—she was set to have an emotional night, attending alongside husband of over 14 years, Six Feet Under‘s Grant Show.
“I’d probably be emotional if anyone takes the statue home,” the Longmire actress continued. “Whoever gets that statue is going to have a great night, and I have one.”
Aside from looking forward to the evening’s awards, the Justified actress was set to mix and mingle with her fellow fictional Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center crew, like Patrick Ball, Supriya Ganesh and Noah Wyle, who landed the win for Outstanding Lead Actor In A Drama Series at the 78th annual ceremony.
And it’s been an exciting year for the prestige medical drama, which received the most nods of any show in 2026, with an astounding 25 nominations from the Television Academy.

As such, it’s no surprise that LaNasa is on board with how writers have developed her character arc across the second season’s 15 nail-biting episodes.
As she put it when referring to charge nurse Dana Evans, “They took her further.”
