When the dust settled at Rebellion (Apr. 11, 2026), Mike Santana is still the TNA world champion. He battled Eddie Edwards in the main event, and the match was full of shenanigans.
The funny business started after Edwards pulled up the floor mat, and Santana lifted him for a Death Valley Driver onto the exposed concrete. Ouch!

Santana and Edwards beat the ten-count to return to the ring. That’s when Alisha Edwards arrived on the scene. Earlier in the evening, Alisha was knocked off the apron in Moose’s match, and she injured her ankle. For the main event, Alisha came out on crutches. Something seemed fishy though. Why was she here? Moose quickly solved that riddle. He aired camera footage spying on Alisha exposing her allegiance to her husband and the System.

Brian Myers and Bear Bronson ran in to attack Moose. Santana landed a dive outside onto the System. When he reentered the ring, Edwards blasted a Boston Knee Party. Kick out by Santana! This replayed the first time that Edwards pinned Santana on Impact.
The malarkey kept coming. Alisha passed her crutch to Eddie. The referee snatched that weapon away. Moose took advantage of the chaos to spear Eddie. Santana was quick on the pin. 1, 2, no 3. Botch alert! It appeared that the referee was supposed to be pulled out of the ring by Alisha, but she was not in position. The ref stopped her count anyway, and the timing of that incident was all cockeyed.
They also replayed the second time that Edwards pinned Santana on Impact. As the ref argued with Alisha on the outside, Cedric Alexander ran in to attack. Santana caught him in a rolling cutter, then Edwards uncorked another Boston Knee Party. Santana kicked out again on the pinfall.
The finish was clean though. Santana and Edwards traded blows. Santana got the upper hand for the Spin The Block discus lariat to win. And still world champion.

Rebellion was supposed to be the night of the System, however, they failed two out of three. Leon Slater retained the X-Division Championship over Alexander, and Edwards couldn’t get the job done on Santana. Myers and Bronson were the System’s silver lining by winning tag team gold from the Hardys.
As for what’s next with Santana, Nic Nemeth is still looming with the Call Your Shot trophy. There seemed to be a glance of recognition that Santana owes Moose one for the assist, and that could result in a world title shot. EC3 is also back in the conversation after officially returning to TNA.
