‘Tis the season for summer sales, and as someone who very recently upgraded to the Switch 2, I’ve been keeping an eye out for solid deals on accessories. It shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise that we’re not seeing any deals on official Nintendo gear like chargers or Joy-Con; however, I’ve found plenty of other useful peripherals currently on sale.

The Switch 2 comes with more storage than the original Switch, but games aren’t getting any smaller. If you weren’t already aware, the Switch 2 doesn’t use the standard MicroSD card you could usually pop into your Switch. I won’t lie to you, I made the mistake of just throwing my (original) Switch in a bag and praying things work out. Long story short, things did not work out. When I eventually upgraded to the Switch 2, I promised myself I wouldn’t make the same mistake again, and one of the first accessories I invested in was a solid case.

Lowest Price Ever

Because this isn’t too exciting, I have one solid recommendation: amFilm’s Auto-Alignment OneTouch screen protector. This two-pack has gotten just over a 20% price cut, which is enough to bring it below $10 and down to its lowest price ever. As someone who bought this exact set and has absolutely no complaints, I’m not surprised it made it into our tech team’s list of the best screen protectors.
Third-Party Controller Deals That Are Actually Reliable
Unfortunately, we’re not seeing any discounts on official Switch 2 Joy-Con or the Pro Controller. We are, however, seeing some deals on reliable third-party controllers, including multiple Nintendo-themed versions of the PowerA Advantage controller that already stood out to us as a strong budget-friendly option.

Game Storage Cases Dropping to Lowest-Ever Prices
While plenty of Switch 2 cases come with a special section for storing your games, they usually limit you to a smaller number of slots. That’s perfect for taking a couple of games on a trip, but not so much for building out your library in the long-term.
This is one of the few areas where it actually does not matter whether you get a case designed for the Switch 2 or the OG – both consoles use the same physical cartridge size. As such, you get a heck a lot of options, but I found a decent spread of both colorful and more classic cases that happen to be at their lowest prices ever.

With a Switch 2 price increase confirmed for September, I wouldn’t say there’s a bad time to make the console upgrade between now and then. Amazon-owned Woot briefly offered an actual deal on the Switch 2 itself, but it shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise that it quickly sold out. For now, one of the best deals you can get is Nintendo’s “Choose Your Own Game” bundle, which includes Pokemon Pokopia, Mario Kart World, or Donkey Kong Bananza for the same price as the base console.
