The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives cast shake-up may continue.
Following the news that Mikayla Matthews, Dakota Mortensen and Jordan Ngatikaura wouldn’t be returning after season six of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, Taylor Frankie Paul suggested she may be stepping away from the Hulu series.
“My gratitude goes to all the networks that supported me throughout this and gave me the chance to return,” Paul wrote in a statement shared to Instagram Sept. 21. “However I don’t desire to move forward like this. I originally was willing to be removed to let them all continue on with less stress and I’m back to that point.”
Production on the recently-released season five was paused following the surfacing of a 2023 video of her and her on-off boyfriend Mortensen—with whom she shares a 2-year-old—getting into a physical altercation. (Paul had pleaded guilty to a third-degree felony count of aggravated assault following her domestic violence arrest at the time and has since completed probation.)
Following the video’s release, Mortenson, as well as the reality star’s ex-husband Tate Paul—with whom she shares two kids—took legal action against the Hulu star, who is currently still involved in an ongoing custody battle with both of her exes.
With a forthcoming sixth season already in the works, the 32-year-old admitted her dynamic with the rest of MomTok—which includes Jessi Draper, Layla Taylor, Whitney Leavitt, Mayci Neeley, Jennifer Affleck and Miranda Hope—has left her unsure of her future in the group and on the show.
“Some of the girls know what I’ve been through and then to turn and collectively pile on with their ‘statements’ knowing there has been ongoing abuse through the system the last 8 months on top of what I’ve endured,” she continued on Instagram. “Almost the entire cast plus some, going at me….laughing about my kids is disgusting.”

In fact, Paul suggested production staff were among the few associated with the show who checked in on her during her time of need.
“I treated production and crew with respect always, in fact they are ones who checked on me throughout this,” she explained. “I agree it’s to the point of bullying for months now. What makes it harder to take in is some of these parents have made mistakes that would result in the same judgement I’m receiving yet pointing a finger.”
So, Paul emphasized, “it’s a pleasure to remove myself so they can continue, because I’ve almost convinced myself I’m deserving of all this pain and to a certain degree absolutely this is consequences of my actions.”
“My question has been how much suffering and scrutiny is going to be enough,” she added. “I’m just relieved to be out.”
E! News has reached out to a representative for Paul as well as Hulu for comment but has not yet heard back…
