An exciting young talent gets a major booking thanks to a huge return.

WWE got Money in the Bank ladder match qualifiers underway during this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw in Alabama with Bron Breakker defeating Rey Mysterio & Ethan Page in their triple threat match to book his ticket. Later, the women got their quals underway just the same with Maxxine trying to make like her Vision stablemate and set a course for the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana on Oct. 10 in a triple threat opposite Lyra Valkyria and Sol Ruca.

She could not.

Instead, Ruca, a former Intercontinental champion still on the rise, used an assist from a returning Bayley, who showed up just in time to ensure Valkyria failed. Ruca took advantage with a Sol Snatcher and scored a pinfall.

She becomes the first woman to qualify for the ladder match. Is this the next step in Ruca’s career arc? I’m not sure she’s ready for all that just yet but you need talent like her for gimmick matches like this. That she is included should only be a good thing.

Whether she wins or loses.

Maxxine, meanwhile, became a footnote here and was largely forgotten by the end of it. We’ll see what, if anything, that means for her prospects in the near future.
