The beloved sidelined star took the Ice Bucket Challenge, BAY BAY! And AEW is dedicating a whole Dynamite to Rebel!

by Sean Rueter

AEW’s Rebel (formerly with TNA, and before that a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, under her real name Tanea Brooks) was recently diagnosed with ALS, the fatal nerve condition also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.
While obviously terrible news, the 47-year-old has approached it with a remarkable spirit. Rebel immediately set out to be an ambassador for ALS research and treatment, leading AEW to help her efforts with merch with the proceeds going to fight the disease. And following the lead of another name who was recently diagnosed with ALS, former NFL running back Chris Johnson, Rebel’s helped bring back the viral Ice Bucket Challenge trend.

Next among Rebel’s AEW friends to take the challenge? Adam Cole, BAY BAY.

Cole may very well be retired (likely due to injuries to his brain throughout his wrestling career), but he’s still around pro wrestling, a business/artform/pastime he loves very much and in which he’s very loved. The former Ring of Honor, WWE NXT, and AEW TNT champion is looking good, even in a soaked black t-shirt at the end.
Also a little heartwarming, at least for this guy who loves (and cries at) movies like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and LaLa Land where (spoilers, I guess) exes learn to appreciate each other’s role in their lives despite the pain of their relationship’s end? Cole was nominated by Dr. Britt Baker, with whom he remains friends since confirming he and Baker had split as a couple after many years together.

But wait, there’s more! As GM05 told us in The Feed earlier… when Dynamite heads to Georgia in a couple weeks, the whole show will be dedicated to Rebel!
