Shotzi Blackheart signed with Major League Wrestling. The Ballsy Badass has been at every MLW taping since June, and she will be sticking with the company. MLW ticks all the boxes to reach her goals in professional wrestling. Shotzi wants to prove that she can lead the women’s division and be the face of a company.
Shotzi spoke with Blake Lovell of The Takedown on SI to discuss why MLW is such a great fit. She loves being part of MLW, because they keep her TV skills sharp. Whereas, wrestling on the indies grows her confidence in the ring. That combination of development makes Blackheart feel that she is evolving like a Pokemon.
The creative work is where MLW truly shines for Shotzi.
“They were actually one of the first companies to hit me up when my WWE contract ended, and it has turned into my favorite creative playground. It’s a company that truly believes in me. They really invest in me creatively. I’ve never had a company understand my character more than MLW. Every time I get a script, I’m like, ‘Oh my god, they understand me,’ or they make a T-shirt for me, and I’m like, ‘Oh my god, that’s so me.’”
MLW has been filming content for the return to weekly TV programming, so Shotzi didn’t want to spoil any story directions. Blackheart teased that it feels like she is in her own pro wrestling horror movie.
