Hey y’all, it’s rumor time!
After being let go by WWE in its post-WrestleMania workforce reduction, Kairi Sane made sure the wrestling world knew she was available for work at the end of July. That was around the same time the three-time WWE Women’s Tag champ made it known she’d hired an agent connected to several big AEW stars, and talked about the countless offers she’d received from promotions around the world.
Not much since, however. And with All In this weekend, Sean Ross Sapp was asked about Kairi’s status for Wembley during his latest Fightful Select Q&A. Sapp said “there’s still work to be done on” getting the joshi star signed to an AEW contract.
Responding to a possibly-related question about Thekla’s status for All In, SRS said it’s “kinda weird” that the former AEW Women’s World champ isn’t booked for London “because she is huge for them”. But while he advocated for the Toxic Spider to get a spot in Sunday’s line-up, the main man at Fightful said he doesn’t know what, if anything, she will be doing.
Whether or not you choose to connect the dots on this is up to you, but Self Made Pro claims an AEW source told them “that there were going to be three women’s matches on All In” as of “a couple weeks ago”. Coming out of Dynamite last night, only two were official.
