Watch: Meghan Markle Shares Special Photo of Kids Archie and Lilibet With Prince Harry for Father’s Day
Prince Harry will be flying solo to the United Kingdom.
After the Duke of Sussex was reportedly set to bring wife Meghan Markle, as well as their children Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, on the family’s first visit to the United Kingdom in four years, it seems Harry will be making the trip alone.
E! News understands that the Duchess and the children will not be accompanying the Duke during the London portion of the visit. Arrangements for the remainder of the visit are still under consideration.
As for the purpose of the trip—which would have marked Archie and Lilibet’s first U.K. visit since 2022—Harry is attending an event for The Invictus Games Foundation, an organization he founded in 2014 to provide support to international wounded, injured and sick servicemembers. The event, which brings together experts and community members to discuss issues facing veterans, is part of the lead up to the Invictus Games Birmingham 2027.
The last time Prince Harry came to the U.K. was during a solo trip in September 2025. During his return, he reunited with his father King Charles III, whom he had been estranged from as he’s sought to restore security protection for his family in the country. The two royals came together for a private tea before one of Harry’s public engagements.
Indeed, the 41-year-old has expressed his hesitance in bringing his family back to the U.K. due to the government’s decision to cut his security protection. Just last year, Harry suggested that he wouldn’t bring his wife and children back any time soon.

“I can’t see a world where I would be bringing my wife and kids back to the U.K. at this point,” he told the BBC in a May 2025 interview, shortly after he lost his appeal to restore his security access. “And the things that they’re going to miss is well, everything. I love my country. I always have, despite what some people in that country have done.”
Ever since Harry—also estranged from his brother Prince William—and Meghan took a step back as working members of the royal family in 2021, the Spare author has been fighting to retain their security detail while visiting the U.K., expressing concerns for his family’s safety.
“I miss the U.K. I miss parts of the U.K., of course I do,” he continued to the BBC. “I think that it’s quite sad that I won’t be able to show my children my homeland.”
