Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Officially Return to the U.K. for Move

The family’s change in locale comes one month after they enjoyed a trip to the U.K., with Meghan sharing a glimpse of their “summer holiday” to Instagram. Among the carousel of images was one of Archie and Lilibet enjoying the grounds at Althorp, the childhood home of the late Princess Diana. 

Meghan and Harry’s move back to the U.K. could be seen as a sign of thawing relations between the younger prince and his brother Prince William and his father King Charles, with whom Harry has had fraught relationships in recent years.

After all, Harry was previously very candid about his plan to never move his family back to England due to security concerns.

“I can’t see a world where I would be bringing my wife and kids back to the U.K. at this point,” he told the BBC in May 2025. “And the things that they’re going to miss is well, everything. I love my country. I always have, despite what some people in that country have done.”

But even then, the 41-year-old envisioned a world in which he and his family were close once again, especially given Charles’ cancer battle. 

“I would love reconciliation with my family,” he added to the BBC at the time. “I will always. There’s no point in continuing to fight anymore. I don’t know how much time my father has. He won’t speak to me because of this security stuff, but it would be nice to reconcile.”
