Decide Push Square’s GOTM
I’ve been putting these new Game of the Month votes together for over a year now, and I’ve got to just come out and say it: I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a weak month for new releases as June 2026.
Here on Push Square, we reviewed a grand total of three PS5 games, and only one of them got a score over 5/10. That’s pretty much unprecedented.
The highlight of the month, then, was undoubtedly The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales. Square Enix’s latest excursion injected some much-needed wonder and whimsy into the schedule, providing a classics-inspired outing packed with charm.
I’m sure there’ll be some shouts for Gothic 1 Remake — a revival that seems to have gone down well with fans of the cult RPG series — but the game is unfortunately riddled with technical issues on PS5, and so we couldn’t possibly have given it a recommendation in our 5/10 review.
And things somehow got worse with Dead or Alive 6: Last Round — a baffling re-release that barely improves upon the original PS4 title. Dragged down by the egregious decision to include yet more paid DLC, Sammy slaughtered this one in his 4/10 review.
Sheesh — I told you it was weak!
Still, we’ve got to do our duty and collectively vote for Push Square’s official Game of the Month.
