“Sitting around is for losers. I want you to compete for $100,000. This is my tribute.” Vortex Media has unveiled the official trailer for a strange indie film titled Best Boy, from Canadian filmmaker Jesse Noah Klein. This first premiered at the 2025 Edinburgh Film Festival last year and will be out to watch in summer if anyone’s curious – starting in theaters up in Canada first, of course. Three siblings compete in outrageous challenges for their late father’s fortune, rekindling old rivalries & family dynamics. As the games play out, hidden truths emerge, relationships crumble, violence ensues. Starring Aaron Abrams, Marc Bendavid, Mario Dallaire, Caroline Dhavernas, and Lise Roy as mother. It’s described as a “bold, original and blackly comic satire” with “early [Yorgos] Lanthimos tones.” Definitely has some weird Dogtooth vibes from this trailer footage. Keep an eye out for this one.
