Update: Okay, false alarm

Update #2 []: According to an article from Eurogamer, Nintendo itself has now provided a comment to state that the 24th September release date for The Duskbloods is inaccurate.
Here’s a look at what it had to say:
“The release date is inaccurate because there is no information regarding [the] release date of the Duskbloods.”
Update #1 []:
While the Guardian preview for The Duskbloods still contains an apparent release date at the time of writing, writer Kirk McKeand has stated on social media that the date is not accurate after being quizzed by another user:
Original Story: You might have seen that a bunch of previews have now gone live for The Duskbloods on Switch 2. One of these, however, might have mistakenly revealed the game’s planned release date.
The Guardian‘s preview lists the release date for The Duskbloods as 24th September 2026 – so yeah, that’s a little over a month from now.
It could be a mistake, of course, but it seems unlikely that the publication would insert such a specific date with such specific wording, right? It’s plain as day. Expect it to be removed very soon, either way!
“The Duskbloods is released on 24 September”
Previews have also gone into what players can expect from the game and the network test. Essentially, players will explore a large environment, facing off against each other and boss enemies alike. You don’t have to engage in PVP all of the time, but your aim is to perform well enough to proceed onto the next stage, culminating in a 3v3 battle to decide the ultimate champion.
Whilst we await official confirmation on the planned release date, we’ll hopefully see many of you online this weekend for the network test. Be prepared, Bloodsworn!
