“We are locked in history and they were not.” IFC has revealed their new trailer for a fresh 6K restoration of Werner Herzog’s iconic and beloved documentary film titled Cave of Forgotten Dreams. This initially premiered at TIFF 2010 and it opened in theaters in 2011 – winning tons of awards during its release. One of Herzog’s best docs, it takes us way back into human history. A stunning 6K restoration & upgrade of Cave of Forgotten Dreams, Werner Herzog’s astounding 3D documentary explores the highly restricted Chauvet Cave – home to some of the earliest known human artwork. The restored film will open in theaters 15 years after the original release. Fully restored for IMAX, this classic documentary by one of the world’s greatest filmmakers immerses you deep inside the mysterious natural cathedral where art began, France’s Chauvet Cave. The result is a revitalized cinematic experience that brings audiences much closer than ever to one of humanity’s oldest artistic achievements.
