Chris is the great grandson of legendary Chicago Cubs announcer Harry Caray. Chris follows in the footsteps of grandfather Skip Caray and father Chip Caray as MLB play-by-play men. We’ll see if Chris pulls twin magic with brother Stefan, who is also an announcer, for the TNA appearance.
Caray is coming prepared with a baseball bat and a batting helmet for protection. He told TNA, “I’m really excited and a bit nervous to be ringside for the Sacramento Street Fight. For someone who talks for a living, hopefully I’m not in harm’s way during the match. AJ Francis and KC Navarro bring two different styles to the squared-circle. I just hope there’s not too much blood and none on me.”
TNA tapes two night of action (four episodes) from Sacramento, California on May 14 and May 15. Impact airs live on the Thursday session. Feature matches on May 14 include Leon Slater trying to break the record for longest reigning X-Division champion by defending the gold against Cedric Alexander, a battle royal to determine the #1 contender for TNA world champion Mike Santana, and the aforementioned street fight. The lineup on May 15 will include the first-ever Wicked Garden Match between the Righteous and the Hardys as well as the Champions Challenge ten-person tag team bout (champions versus all-stars).
