Max Caster seems to have picked the wrong target for an ‘edgy’ bar in his TNA debut

No stranger to controversy during his time in the pro wrestling spotlight, Max Caster’s entrance freestyles have apparently landed the former AEW Tag champ in hot water again.

Just last night (Oct. 11), Caster debuted for TNA Wrestling. It was his first major appearance since his AEW contract expired, and Platinum Max wanted to make an impression. Rapping the bar, “This the firing squad, I drop bombs, you don’t even have to fly to Riyadh” certainly did that.

It apparently made such an impression on TNA officials that they’ve scrubbed it from all their online channels, and are either considering or have already decided to part ways with Caster.

Fightful Select says Caster has “big heat” at TNA, because the line wasn’t approved. Per that report, “his future with the company is now uncertain” and its possible plans will have to be changed, with upcoming taping plans potentially affected.

False Finish says Caster’s already done at TNA, adding that “The line raised eyebrows both within TNA and its partners globally.”

This is just personal supposition on the part of a pro wrestling blogger, but I’d already been thinking about one particular global partner of TNA’s that might not have liked it.

After pundits and fans questioned the TNA/WWE relationship, we were recently reminded the partnership with NXT is alive and well. So fresh off some positive steps there, we’re guessing TNA really didn’t want anyone on the Bound for Glory card calling attention to something WWE is currently not trying to call attention to. Namely that it’s got a premium live event scheduled to take place in Riyadh in three weeks, where the airport has been hit multiple times by forces in 600 miles away in Yemen.

We’ll definitely hear more about whatever happens between Caster and TNA from here. Until then, use the comments to give us your thoughts on his latest freestyle, and possibly brief run with the company.
