Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls reveals its Year 1 DLC roster, starting with Phoenix Cyclops on 2nd November

Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls has revealed its full Year 1 DLC roster, with Phoenix Cyclops, Thor (Jane Foster), Venom, and Jubilee all on the way.

Developer Arc System Works announced the lineup on Twitter/X, alongside artwork by Marvel artist Peach Momoko.

Phoenix Cyclops is first, arriving on 2nd November, with Classic and Legacy costumes for the character launching the same day. Thor (Jane Foster) follows in winter 2027, then Venom and a Klyntar stage in spring 2027. Jubilee is expected to drop in summer 2027.

The characters and the stage make up the Year One Characters & Stage Pass, although each can also be bought individually.

In a PlayStation Blog post, producer Takeshi Yamanaka explained why the team picked the Phoenix version of Cyclops, with new visuals, Optic Blasts, and Dark Phoenix gameplay.

“During those discussions, our narrative team proposed the idea of using the Phoenix version of Cyclops,” Yamanaka said. “We felt this interpretation would allow us to create fresher visuals and a more exciting fighting style while offering something unexpected for players.”

It’s also why he’s DLC and not a day-one fighter. Yamanaka said the team “made the difficult decision to continue working on the character until we felt like we were adding something new”, before releasing him as its first post-launch character.

Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls is out now on PS5 and PC.
