Watch: Zendaya, Connor Storrie and More Emmys 2026 Nominations Snubs and Surprises
Being partners means Sarah Pidgeon will always stand by her costars.
After the Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessetteactress was nominated in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie category for the 2026 Emmys, she shared her thoughts onPaul Anthony Kelly not earning a nod for his leading role.
“Of course, I was hoping that everyone—especially Paul—would be recognized,” Pidgeon told Variety in a recent interview. “Something I learned is that film, TV and theater, all of it really takes a village. It’s not a solo show, it’s not a solo performance.”
“Working with Paul Anthony Kelly was such a dream every single day,” she continued, “from the moment he walked into the audition room, and then every single day through a six-month-long shoot, seeing his evolution of John.”
And the 30-year-old—who is nominated alongside Claire Danes (The Beast in Me), Sally Field (Remarkably Bright Creatures), Carey Mulligan (Beef) and Sarah Snook (All Her Fault)—is certain that Kelly will have a golden career after his portrayal of former president John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline KennedyOnassis‘ late son.
“To see the ease that he had on set and this transformation that he was able to take on, it was something I admire so much,” she emphasized. “Hats off to Paul. I would love to work with him and everyone on the show ten times over, and I’m so excited to see all of the future recognition that everyone gets.”
For Pidgeon, being nominated for the FX series—which also earned nominations for Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series and Outstanding Supporting Actress for Constance Zimmer‘srole as Kennedy Onassis—is the honor of a lifetime.
