When WWE announced the next Money in the Bank qualifying matches, you couldn’t help but notice NXT Women’s Champion Kelani Jordan was included in the women’s triple threat scheduled for next week’s episode of Monday Night Raw in Mexico City. She just won the title from Kendal Grey at Heatwave in Texas, and is already rolling.
That’s because Jordan had her first defense of the title on this week’s episode of NXT television, successfully taking down Jaida Parker right at the top top of the show.
I suppose the idea, then, is she has gained a great deal of momentum heading into what is unquestionably one of the bigger opportunities she’s seen since her time under the WWE umbrella. It seems unlikely she’ll win the Money in the Bank qualifier, considering her position, but it should benefit her to be there, at the very least.
After her win here, Wren Sinclair hit the scene to put the boots to Jordan, taking up for her friend, Grey, who hasn’t been around since losing the title. NXT General Manager Robert Stone suspended Sinclair backstage shortly after the attack.
Perhaps that will end up being the excuse to show up on Raw in Mexico to cost Jordan the match on Monday?
