The Role
We are hiring an Investor Relations & Asset Management Associate/Senior Associate to own investor reporting and track the financial health of our active projects. You will report to the Head of Acquisitions and COO.
This is a hands-on role at a lean, fast-moving firm. You will interface directly with investors, prepare updates, build the trackers behind them, and understand status of all active projects.
Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly and quarterly investor reports and host monthly investor calls covering construction progress, sales, loan balances and distributions.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for investors, handling all correspondence, onboarding new investors and answering questions promptly and accurately.
- Build fundraising and investor-facing materials from scratch, including pitch books, presentations, project updates and investment case studies.
- Own and coordinate responses to investor due diligence requests, including DDQs, follow-up questions and ad hoc materials for active raises.
- Coordinate capital calls, distributions, capital account statements and year-end tax reporting with accounting.
- Maintain the investor database, data room and deal and sales trackers so investor information is accurate and organized.
- Monitor each project’s performance against its business plan, analyzing budget variances, schedule and contingency use, and flagging risks early.
- Manage construction and inventory loans, including draw requisitions, lender reporting, covenant tracking, paydowns, extensions and refinancings.
- Review and track key agreements, including loan documents, offering plans and vendor contracts, to ensure compliance.
- Perform general asset management responsibilities as needed.
- Develop a deep understanding of Avdoo’s projects, investment approach and capital needs, partnering with leadership, construction, legal and finance to produce accurate, polished materials.
Qualifications
Required
- 2 to 5 years of experience in real estate investor relations, asset management, acquisitions, development, lending or investment banking.
- Bachelor’s degree in real estate, finance, accounting, economics or a related field.
- Advanced Excel skills, including cash flow models, sensitivity analysis and equity waterfalls.
- Solid understanding of real estate capital structures, construction and inventory loans, and loan documents.
- Excellent writing and presentation skills, with the judgment to communicate directly with investors and lenders.
- Discretion with confidential information, strong organization and the ability to manage many deadlines across projects.
Preferred
- Experience with an NYC owner, developer or investor, ideally in for-sale residential (condo) development.
- Familiarity with loan draw and requisition processing, condo offering plans and closing mechanics.
- Knowledge of NYC submarkets, zoning and tax abatement programs.
