For years following her 2022 split from husband of nearly 30 years Kody Brown, Janelle Brown had no interest in multiplying her love.

“I think the whole dating scene these days is terrifying, like the whole app thing,” the Sister Wives star admitted in a 2024 interview with E! News. “No. No thanks.”

But once you stop seeking out love—or, in Janelle’s case, refuse to start…

“I wasn’t looking,” the 57-year-old insisted while hard-launching her new romance with an Aug. 18 Instagram post. “I certainly wasn’t expecting you.”

Because she definitely has something really awesome in the suitor she identified only as Pete.

“Somehow, you turned out to be exactly what I didn’t know I needed,” she noted, “And it has been pretty wonderful.”

Truthfully, the mom to Logan Brown, Madison Brush, Hunter Brown, Gabriel Brown, Savanah Brown and the late Garrison Brown didn’t think she needed any sort of romantic partner.

“I’m not interested in dating,” she insisted in a 2023 episode of TLC’s long-running series. “I mean unless God somehow throws this guy right in my path and points with big arrows, ‘This is it, this is it, this is it.’ I’m just not interested.”

And if she were going to give up even a sliver of her independence, a strong spark would be a must.

“The hormones are hell when you’re single,” she quipped on a 2025 Sister Wives: One on One special. “I’m a very sexual being.”

So, if there were to be someone “down the road,” she continued, “then that will be part of it. I’m a Taurus and I’m a very Earth Mama: Everything earthy, food, wine, sex—all of it.”

And it would appear that she’s found the right recipe in Pete, her caption suggesting he’s successfully integrated himself into the farm life she’s been sowing.

Hinting at the length of her romance, the co-owner of floral sanctuary Taeda Farms wrote, “Some chapters are meant to unfold quietly before they’re shared.”

While their love appears to be blooming, plenty of Janelle’s Sister Wives costars have put down roots with their partners.

And somehow, you turned out to be exactly what I didn’t know I needed.” Summed up the North Carolinian: “It has been pretty wonderful. Everyone please meet Pete.”
