Hook has breaking news. He is the new boss of The Opps.
The Opps’ numbers have dwindled in recent weeks with Samoa Joe down due to injury and Will Hobbs powerhousing in WWE. Not to mention that the group lost the AEW World Championship as well as the AEW World Trios Championship. The Opps must go on. Thus, Hook is taking the reins.
Hook delivered the news during AEW Collision (Feb. 7, 2026). Hook explained that Joe decided to appoint him as the new boss of The Opps. Hook takes this as a great sign of respect, and he won’t take the duty lightly. Hook was born a winner. He is a leader that inspires.
Trust earned! With @SamoaJoe sidelined, @730hook is chosen to take the reins of The Opps!

It’s not surprising that Taz gave an endorsement for his son.
BOSS HOOK FTW
Taz isn’t the only one voicing support. MJF sounded off that Hook will be a better leader than Samoa Joe.
I for one feel, HOOK will be a better leader of the OPPS than, sloppy Joe 🤷🏻♂️

I wouldn’t trust MJF being sincere here. He’s probably angling to buy The Opps students as henchmen. But that does bring up interesting potential for story material. There’s not much for Hook to do with just himself and Katsuyori Shibata. If Hook is going to be a leader, then he will need people to lead. This could be the break to finally allow Hook consistent time to develop on screen.
