Hazbin Hotel Confirmed to End With Season 5 Before Season 3 Even has a Release Date

Vivienne Medrano’s adult animation hit, Hazbin Hotel, will come to an end with Season 5, Prime Video has announced.

Early confirmation of the show’s conclusion was revealed at LVL UP Expo in Las Vegas today. It’s a surprise update that arrived with a trailer, revealing plans to tie a bow on the story of Charlie Morningstar, Vaggi, and Angel Dust before Season 3 has even premiered.

“I’m so thankful for how Prime Video has championed our vision at SpindleHorse, and I’m grateful for their partnership and commitment to bringing Hazbin Hotel to its epic conclusion,” Medrano said in a statement (via Deadline). “I’m so excited for fans to see how this story ends.”

Hazbin Hotel Season 1 premiered in January 2024 and quickly picked up the green light for Season 3 and 4 just months later. Season 2 eventually arrived in the fall of 2025, giving the show a total of 16 episodes.

Season 3 is expected to arrive sometime within the next year but currently has no release date. We now know that Season 5 has received the greenlight, too, though there is no telling when it will premiere.

“From its inception, Hazbin Hotel has pushed the boundaries of adult animation through bold storytelling, vibrant artistry, and unapologetic heart,” Amazon MGM Studios head of animation Melissa Wolfe said in a statement. “Vivienne Medrano and her team have built an extraordinary world that has captivated fans around the globe, and we’re thrilled to give the series—and its passionate community—a fitting, unforgettable final chapter.”
