Youngwoo & Associates is a privately held Manhattan development firm with a five-decade record of design-driven New York projects, including Pier 57 on the Hudson River waterfront. Through a recently closed fund with Almanac Realty Investors, the firm is deploying institutional capital into a national pipeline of powered land and data center development, alongside its active New York portfolio.
The Role
This is a first-chair transactional seat reporting directly to the principals. You will run joint venture agreements, land acquisitions, development agreements, financings, and entitlements from term sheet through closing, on every deal. You will also own corporate and entity matters and direct outside counsel on specialty work.
You will be the only lawyer in the room, internally and across the table. Few legal seats pair this much deal authority with this much proximity to the decision.
Qualifications
- JD and admission to the New York bar
- 7+ years of real estate transactional experience at a leading law firm, or in-house with an owner, developer, or investment manager
- A track record first-chairing complex transactions end to end
- Depth in joint venture structures, acquisitions, and real estate finance
- Fund structures and institutional capital partners a plus
- Commercial judgment: you know which points move economics and which points move paper
Compensation
Base salary of $275,000 – $325,000, annual bonus, and papered deal-level participation in the development pipeline. As the projects deliver, so does the upside. This role is on-site in Manhattan.
