YOU KNOW EVERYTHING
Game of Thrones star Kit Harington will play Gilderoy Lockhart in Season 2 of HBO’s upcoming Harry Potter series, replacing Nicholas Hoult, who left the role due to scheduling issues. This will not be Harington’s first time playing the character. He voiced Gilderoy Lockhart in Harry Potter: The Full-Cast Audio Editions, released late last year. While working on the audiobook, Harington revealed his love for the series. “I read it, and like so many generations, I was entranced, and then I was a huge fan all through my teenage years,” he said. “I think there’s a little bit of Gilderoy in all of us,” Harington said in the same featurette, remembering a time when he was younger and may have used his celebrity status to get into a French club. Lockhart, a major character in the second book, is a self-important, fame-hungry wizard whom Dumbledore recruits to teach Defence Against the Dark Arts at Hogwarts. The season is slated to begin filming this fall.

Rock Star, 74, Reveals Devastating Diagnosis
ROCK AND RALLY
A GoFundMe has been launched to cover medical and living costs for guitarist Richard Lloyd, 74, from the rock band Television. The rocker was diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma, a rare and aggressive form of bile-duct cancer in March. Lloyd’s bandmate Sean Seymour created the fundraising page, writing that the musician, due to his cancer, cannot perform to earn money, and his wife, Sheila O’Keefe, has given up her job to be his full-time caretaker. “Like most working musicians, Richard is being overwhelmed by crushing medical expenses and the ongoing costs of simply getting through each month while he is unable to work.” According to Seymour, Lloyd has tumors in his liver and one near a major blood vessel, making surgery impossible. He has been in the ICU seven times for tumor-related complications. The GoFundMe has reached $48,000, more than half of its $80,000 goal. Punk legend Patti Smith confirmed to Rolling Stone she donated $5,000, “in gratitude for his musical contribution in Television and beyond, that inspired us all.”
This Wellness Shot Gives Your Liver Some Well-Deserved TLC
DAILY DOSE

When it comes to liver-focused supplements, many of us assume they’re only for recovering from a hangover or for people who drink heavily (or at least frequently). But alcohol is just one small part of the equation. Your liver is responsible for hundreds of essential functions, including filtering waste products from the blood, processing nutrients, supporting metabolism, and producing bile. This digestive fluid helps break down fats and absorb fat-soluble vitamins. When bile secretion or liver function is less than optimal, digestion can suffer, possibly contributing to symptoms like bloating, gastrointestinal discomfort, and sluggishness.
In other words, whether you drink alcohol or not, your liver could probably use a little extra TLC—especially if you’re dealing with persistent digestive issues such as bloating, irregularity, or stomach discomfort. Vitamin Shoppe is celebrating Wellness Month this August, with a slew of products formulated to support your liver (along with digestion and metabolism). Still, our favorite is Dose For Your Liver’s liquid supplement.
Dose For Your Liver has earned the nickname “liquid gold” for good reason. The daily wellness shot is formulated with science-backed ingredients traditionally associated with liver health, including turmeric, milk thistle, dandelion, and ginger. The formula also contains bioflavonoids and other plant compounds designed to support healthy liver function, digestion, and metabolism. Plus, it actually tastes good. The bright, citrusy flavor reminds me of the SunnyD “orange drink” I grew up on, minus the artificial ingredients and sugar overload. Instead, you’re getting a concentrated mixture of botanicals with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that may help support the body’s natural detoxification processes and general digestive health.
If you’re looking to give your liver (and, by extension, your digestive system) a little extra support without adding yet another capsule to your supplement routine, Dose For Your Liver offers a convenient way to combine several popular wellness ingredients into one surprisingly delicious daily shot. Grab a bottle (or two) on sale at The Vitamin Shoppe this month.

NFL Team Owner Arrested in Prostitution Bust
OOPS
San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York has pleaded no contest to criminal charges after he was arrested on suspicion of engaging in prostitution. The 46-year-old, whose family is worth $8.5 billion, according to Forbes, was arrested Sunday morning in Ohio at the Wheat Hill Mobile Home Community in East Palestine and booked at Columbiana County Jail, according to a police report. The arrest comes as the result of collaboration between the East Palestine Police Department and the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force. He was convicted of possessing criminal tools, but prior to his no-contest plea, his other charge for engaging in prostitution was altered to a disorderly conduct charge. The judge sentenced him to one day in prison per charge, which were to be served concurrently. He also had to pay $150 for the disorderly conduct charge and $1,500 for the possession of criminal tools. York has been the 49ers’ CEO since 2008 and is the franchise’s majority shareholder. He grew up in Youngstown, Ohio, and has two sons, Jaxon and Brixton, with his wife, Danielle Belluomini.

Family Reveals ‘Batman’ Actress Is Dead at 90
ACTRESS AND ACTIVIST
Leslie Parrish, who acted in episodes of 1960s Batman and Star Trek, has died at 90. Erica Berdan, the daughter of Parrish’s second husband, told The Hollywood Reporter the star died in late 2025. She was also known for her roles in movies such as The Manchurian Candidate (1962), Li’l Abner (1959), Three on a Couch (1966) and The Giant Spider Invasion (1975). Outside of acting, Parrish was an activist; she protested the Vietnam War and founded the anti-war organization Speakers and Talent Organized for Peace. She campaigned for Tom Bradley in his first two runs for Los Angeles mayor and served on his committee to choose new municipal commissioners for city departments. The actress was married to songwriter Ric Marlow for just over five years before she married writer Richard Bach. Bach and Parrish made conservation donations that protect 168 acres of forest land and wildlife habitat. “It’s a dream come true and one of the best things I’ve done in my life,” she said of her donation. “It’s what I’m most proud of, and it will surely, more than any other work I’ve ever done, be the accomplishment that outlasts me.”

‘90210′ Actress Marries Rugby Star in Crowdfunded Wedding
HONEYMOON HUSTLE
Actress AnnaLynne McCord has married former professional rugby player Danny Cipriani after asking for donations for their wedding. Last month, the couple launched a Honeyfund site that read, “Gift any amount, contribute to our journey! Help us create our dream wedding and honeymoon experience with any amount of donation.” The pair, who have a combined net worth of $8 million, faced backlash for asking for donations of anywhere between $10 and $5,000. They raised $14,200 by Friday, according to the US Sun. McCord said she received death threats in response. “I was told I was despicable—and that I was trying to extort money from my wedding guests. People actually donated ten dollars towards the wedding so they could write on the site that Danny and I were disgusting.” The couple tied the knot on Saturday in a ceremony in Los Angeles. They reportedly plan to have two more wedding ceremonies, one in London and one in Cambodia. “I married the love of my life yesterday. And it’s real it wasn’t a dream,” McCord said in a video on Instagram as she woke up next to Cipriani. “This love is a grace upon my being.”

Mother, 31, and Toddler Daughter Killed by Lightning Strike
FREAK STORM
A Florida mother and her two-year-old daughter were killed by lightning while walking outside during a thunderstorm, authorities said. Kenya Glasgow, 31, and her toddler, Kennedi, were struck shortly before 2:30 p.m. on Sunday in Margate, near Fort Lauderdale. A resident found them on a sidewalk and called 911, reporting burn injuries. He also said that Glasgow had two “holes” in her chest. Police, firefighters and paramedics rushed to the scene and performed CPR before the pair were taken to separate hospitals. Both were pronounced dead shortly after arriving. Glasgow’s husband, Kam Glasgow, was left mourning his wife and daughter, describing the 31-year-old as his “best friend,” the Daily Mail reported. Their other two-year-old daughter, Kensli, has now lost her identical twin. “I just lost my best friend,” Kam said. “My daughter just lost her best friend.” He said the family was devastated but urged others to cherish the people they love. “My babies didn’t suffer. I’m hurt we are hurt but if you gotten the chance to feel that beautiful light my wife and daughter brought into your life cherish it,” he said.

Woman, 38, Jailed After Convincing Couple She Was 12
CHILDLIKE ANTICS
A 38-year-old serial fraudster has been sentenced to 18 months in prison after successfully convincing a couple she was a 12-year-old girl seeking refuge. Amanda Maria Souza de Oliveira tricked her hosts in southern Brazil for over a year, living in a toy-filled bedroom, drinking from baby bottles, and celebrating a fake 12th birthday. To justify her adult appearance, she claimed her father forced her to take hormonal supplements. Police reported the evangelical couple was “emotionally kidnapped” before a visiting relative discovered online reports revealing Oliveira’s long history of pulling similar age-defying schemes across multiple states. When officers raided her room, Oliveira immediately dropped her high-pitched act and spoke in a normal voice, later admitting she had pulled the fraud for 15 years. “It is clear that I deceived people; I lied. But I did not intend to scam anyone,” she told police. Rejecting her defense that she was mentally ill, the judge convicted her of fraud. Her lawyers are appealing.

Damning Poll Shows British Backlash Against Taxpayer-Funded Security for Prince Harry
WRONG NUMBERS
A new poll from British newspaper The Mail on Sunday has revealed the extent of the challenge facing Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as they seek to win back the United Kingdom by moving home after six years overseas. Just 27 percent approve of their return, while 34 percent disapprove; 22 percent say their homecoming will weaken the monarchy, compared with 8 percent who say it will strengthen it. There are stronger figures on whether Harry and Meghan should apologize for implying members of the royal family were racist—43 percent say yes, against 26 percent who say no. Security remains one of the most divisive issues. While Harry could potentially regain state-funded protection, 68 percent say the couple should pay for their own security, while only 2 percent say taxpayers should cover it. Meanwhile, just 16 percent think the couple should become working royals again. It is very clear from these responses that people do not want the Sussexes to be reinstated as representatives of the royal family. So what can possibly happen next?

When you’re looking for the right medication, the trial-and-error process (not to mention combating side effects) can be frustrating, time-consuming, and downright expensive. ClarityX is a simple, at-home DNA test that analyzes genes related to how the body may process and respond to commonly prescribed medications, including many used in mental health care.
Your DNA determines how you process medication. ClarityX cross-references your DNA with over 285 medications to identify how effectively your body metabolizes them and flag potential side effects. ClarityX uses data from the FDA and CPIC to give your doctors precise dosing guidelines that will work best for you.
The process is simple: after you receive your test kit, simply activate it, complete a painless 30-second cheek swab, and drop the sample off in the mail. In about seven days, you’ll get a comprehensive report by email. The best part? ClarityX is offering 25 percent off its tests.
While it’s always essential to consult your physician about medication of any kind, this DNA test can help take some of the guesswork out of the process.

Southwest Flight Attendant Mysteriously Found Dead During Layover
DEATH IN PARADISE
A Southwest Airlines flight attendant has been found dead during a layover in Hawaii, leaving her family desperate for answers. Jenny Lupton, 50, of Moore, Oklahoma, was found around 6 a.m. on Thursday in Waikiki. Lupton’s family said the medical examiner told them she appeared to have fallen from the balcony of her 24th-floor room at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Resort. A hotel employee reportedly found her body near a dumpster. Her relatives say they have been given few details and are unsure whether anyone witnessed the fall, according to The Sun. They also say hotel security told them more than 70 cameras cover the area, and police are reviewing footage. Her sister, Tresa Lupton, said the family does not believe Jenny intentionally harmed herself. “We just want to know what happened,” she told The Sun. According to Tresa, her sister had spent time with a fellow flight attendant and got a new tattoo shortly before her death. Lupton had worked as a Southwest flight attendant for 29 years and leaves behind a 15-year-old son.

Cirque du Soleil Acrobat Files $16M Lawsuit Over Horrific Bone-Breaking Fall
NIGHTMARE
A Cirque du Soleil aerial acrobat is suing the world-famous circus group following a horrific fall that resulted in her breaking 11 bones. Russian performer Mariia Konfektova filed a $16.75 million lawsuit, claiming Cirque du Soleil failed to provide safety mats or nets while she performed a stunt in Portland, Oregon, in August 2024. Konfektova fell 15 feet during one of the circus’s Kooza performances, leaving her with multiple broken bones, a concussion, double vision, and fractures to her lower back, wrist, and skull. Video of the incident shows Konfektova falling to the ground after slipping from a hoop that was circling the stage several feet in the air. Konfektova claims in the lawsuit that she had raised safety concerns to Cirque du Soleil before the incident, while noting at least three people have died and more than a dozen have been injured while performing for the traveling company. Cirque du Soleil was fined $8,070 for safety violations by Oregon’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration. Konfektova has also set up a GoFundMe to raise money for her recovery from the “life-changing accident.” The GoFundMe has raised more than $3,400 so far.
