Forbidden Door 12-man cage match is Mark Briscoe’s path to MJF and the AEW World title (UPDATED)

Before Maxwell Jacob Friedman took time off from AEW last year, one of the wrestlers he put over was Mark Briscoe. That win in All Out’s Tables and Tacks match should earn Briscoe a shot at MJF now that he’s on his third AEW World title run, right?

The champ keeps saying no, no matter how many wins the Sussex County Chicken racks up, like the one he notched over PAC on the Summer Blockbuster episode of Dynamite tonight (June 10) in Cincinnati.

As he’s been doing the past few weeks, Briscoe called out Max. The champ appeared — at a safe distance — and shot a match down again. Mark was ready this time, though. First, his fellow Conglomerators had his back when the champ’s hired hands tried to get the drop on him.

Then he revealed that he spoke to Tony Khan, and the real boss said if Briscoe and The Conglomeration can beat MJF and five teammates in a Steel Cage at Forbidden Door, then he can have his title shot.

This will be the second straight year a multi-man cage match main events the crossover PPV. It should also lead to an MJF/Briscoe title shot somewhere on the road to All In.

UPDATE: Later on Dynamite Summer Blockbuster, we got a scene that explains how Max will find five friends. He’ll buy them from Don Callis. This clip also teases Kevin Knight vs. Friedman, and see Callis promise Andrade El Ídolo a title shot.
