First Trailer for ‘Chopin’ Biopic Movie Starring Polish Actor Eryk Kulm

Chopin Biopic Trailer

“Now, I have been resurrected.” Rialto Distribution has revealed an official trailer for a film titled Chopin, a biopic story about the life and genius of musician Frédéric Chopin. You definitely know his name, but do you know his story? The talk of the town, the most romantic figure of decadent Parisian nights. When his lungs start bleeding, Chopin knows his days are numbered… Composing becomes his only obsession. The ticking clock rushes him to revolutionize music. The film is set mostly in Paris in 1835, right around the end of his life (he only made it to 39 years old). Renowned composer Frédéric Chopin navigates high society, performing concerts, teaching for income while battling illness. He composes masterpieces, attends parties, pursues romance amid aristocratic and royal circles. He was a superstar at the time. But it would only last so long. Starring Eryk Kulm as Chopin, with Joséphine de La Baume as George Sand, Victor Meutelet as Franz Liszt, Maja Ostaszewska, Karolina Gruszka, and Lambert Wilson as the King. Made on a grand scale with everything accurate to the time. This looks like Poland’s version of Amadeus, showing how much of a rock star Chopin was, along with all the other controversies & challenges in his life. Including that he was very sick and could barely play anymore in the last few years of his young life. 🎹 Take a look below.

Set in Paris, 1835. There is turmoil in Europe. Polish pianist Frédéric Chopin (Eryk Kulm) is 25 and the star of the city. In salons and at soirees around the country he is celebrated and worshipped by the king. He is considered a musical genius who, with sensitive virtuosity, moves more than others with thunderous pathos. But behind the radiant glow, shadows are hidden: Chopin’s health is fragile and his music – bold, sophisticated, poetic – depicts a soul that is more melancholy than he reveals, inspired by the longing for his Polish homeland. Chopin, originally known as Chopin, Chopin! and also Chopin: A Sonata in Paris, is directed by the Polish filmmaker Michal Kwiecinski, director of the films Statysci, Bodo, Flip, and many other TV movies & Polish series previously. The screenplay is written by Bartosz Janiszewski. Produced by Malgorzata Fogel-Gabrys, Jan Kwiecinski, Michal Kwiecinski. This initially premiered at the 2025 Gdynia Polish Film Festival last year and it already opened in cinemas in Poland in the fall. Rialto Distribution will release Kwiecinski’s Chopin movie sometime later in 2026 coming soon in the US. Who wants to watch it?
