Far Cry TV Show Adds Oscar Nominee Jennifer Jason Leigh, Spider-Noir’s Brendan Gleeson to Cast

FX’s upcoming anthology TV series Far Cry, based on Ubisoft’s hit first-person shooter video game franchise, is adding five more actors to its cast as it heads towards production. Oscar nominees Jennifer Jason Lee (Hateful Eight, Fargo) and Brendan Gleeson (Spider-Noir, The Banshees of Inisherin) have signed on, as have Hamish Linklater (Batman: Caped Crusader, The Whisper Man), Sam Spruell (Game of Thrones: A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms), and Jamie Demetriou (Only Murders in the Building).

Far Cry’s showrunners are Noah Hawley (Fargo, Alien: Earth) and Rob Mac (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia). Previously announced cast members include Mac, Lizzy Caplan, and Steve Buscemi. As an anthology, each new season of Far Cry, which will air on FX and Hulu, will feature a different story, setting, and cast. The show doesn’t have a release date as of yet.

On the gaming side, Far Cry has been dormant for a little while now, with the last entry in the game series being 2021’s Far Cry 6, which IGN thought was great, giving it an 8 out of 10. Meanwhile, Ubi’s recent TV efforts have been good. I reviewed Netflix’s animated Splinter Cell Deathwatch and quite liked it
