Watch: Elizabeth Hurley Details the “Important” Factors in Billy Ray Cyrus Relationship
Billy Ray Cyrus is in the heart of Elizabeth Hurley.
The Royals alum detailed how she and the “In the Heart of a Woman” singer make the most of their time together while navigating long distance.
“We’re very happy together,” Hurley exclusively told E! News in a July 20 interview. “We’re really enjoying trying to get this balance between America and the UK. He’s always been based in America—Tennessee, for the last 35 years or something.”
Even with the distance, the pair’s country roots have allowed them to foster a strong foundation.
“But the good thing is that he’s very country where he is in Tennessee,” she continued. “I’m very country where I am. And that’s a really important thing in our relationship that neither of us want to be out and about.”
The Strictly Confidential star noted that she and Cyrus—dad to Brandi Cyrus, 39, Trace Cyrus, 37, Miley Cyrus, 33, Braison Cyrus, 32, and Noah Cyrus, 26, with ex-wife Tish Cyrus as well as Christopher Cyrus, 34, with ex Kristin Luckey—hit the town “very rarely” for business obligations and social gatherings.
Instead, their shared happy place is “being at home in the country and snuggling up and doing a lot of things with nature.”
And Hurley, 61, knows that may come as a shock to some.
“Nobody would look at either of us and think that’s who we were, but we are,” she continued. “And I love it. I love gardening. He loves being outside in nature. We both love watching birds of prey. It’s a really lovely life.”

Indeed, their love is more fit for the Old Town Road.
“We’ve just watched the Little House on the Prairie together and we’re like, ‘We can do that! We could have pined in the prairies,’” she added. “We’d be very good.”
As for the other man in Hurley’s life—her 24-year-old son Damian Hurley with whom she shares with ex Steve Bing—she wants him to find the same happiness as he navigates his own career in show business.
Though Hurley has found success in Hollywood—including her upcoming role as Wolf Queen in Breaking Bear premiering on Tubi July 24—she shared she’s been giving her son “his warnings” about the industry.

“I just wanted him to do what he wanted to do so that he could really follow his heart, follow his dreams,” Hurley said. “It’s an evil business and you get a lot of doors slammed in your face.”
Still, she’s not entirely saying “Ready, Set, Don’t Go,” either.
“He’s pretty tough,” she added. “He’s probably tougher than me and I’m quite tough. So, he’ll be fine.”
