Delta CEO Ed Bastian said the airline industry will need to find a way to sustain its revenue momentum whenever fuel prices start to recede.
Delta Air Lines CEO Ed Bastian said Friday customers are continuing to buy airfares despite the price increases.
“What we have seen over this last year, the ability of the industry to get much greater value for the product that we offer. And unfortunately, it took a fuel spike in a short order to move people in that direction,” Bastian said during a call with analysts. “But as we see the customer response, candidly, the limited amount of resistance that we see, the fact that our product continues to be seen in a consumer basket as reasonably affordable — even at a 20% price increase — which largely we have taken this year, I think that’s a very good sign for the fut
