Small DCKO energy

We’re getting a bad ass Marvel fighter next month in the form of Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, so you may have been hoping for something similar from DC.
While rumours about Injustice 3 swirl, though, Warner Bros has announced a new free-to-play fighter based on the DCKO comic crossover series.
Unfortunately, this is a mobile-only affair where you’ll “tap for fast light hits, swipe for harder ones, chain them together, mix and match to optimise damage”.
Personally, I’m not opposed to mobile gaming at all, but I can’t think of a worse fit than a fighting game – although as I understand, Injustice 2 was quite popular on phones.
To be fair, the game has a pretty huge roster of characters already, including Batman, Harley Quinn, and Superman.
While I’m personally not particularly taken by the artstyle, I do like the way the game incorporates comic book aspects, like sound bubbles such as ‘pow’ and ‘wham’ – that’s pretty fun.
But unless Injustice 3 is announced imminently, this seems like a pretty disappointing Marvel Tokon alternative for DC fans, doesn’t it? I’ll be sticking with ArcSys’ effort.
