“Ain’t very Christian what you’re doing here now.” Quiver Distr. has revealed the official trailer for an indie film titled Stranglehold, an action thriller crime comedy film set during the holidays made by actor Clark Duke. It’s his second feature after directing Arkansas before this, and this film is set in Arkansas as well. They’re dropping this on VOD directly which sounds like there’s not much to see in here. Ashley Benson stars as Bailey – an exotic dancer with big dreams. She and her Army vet husband Tim are fed up with their lives of barely getting by in small-town Arkansas, so they impulsively decide to rob the strip club on the night a big mobster is visiting. Obviously everything goes wrong. Starring Ashley Benson & Jake Lacy, Justin Long, Ron Perlman, Chandler Duke, Elle King, David Arquette, Brian Posehn, and Chris Redd. Looks like some VHS release dumb fun to watch whenever you can’t think of anything else to put on.
Here’s the red band trailer (+ poster) for Clark Duke’s crime comedy Stranglehold, from YouTube:

Obsessed with the glamorous influencers she follows on social media and fed up with her basic life of barely getting by, a small-town Arkansas stripper named Bailey (Ashley Benson) decides to rob the club she works at with the help of her ex-military husband, Tim (Jake Lacy), so that they can give their infant daughter a ncie Christmas and a better life. Stranglehold is directed by American actor turned filmmaker Clark Duke, director of the film Arkansas previously, as well as a few other short films. Produced by Clark Duke, Ronnie Exley, Kate Hoffman, Jeremy Ross, Faith Fitzgerald-Moore, and Shaun Sanghani. This hasn’t premiered at any film festivals or elsewhere, as far as we know. Quiver Distribution releases Clark Duke’s Stranglehold crime comedy movie direct-to-VOD starting on October 2nd, 2026 this fall. Look any good?
