Tonight’s (Sept. 16) episode of AEW Dynamite featured a singles match between 55-year-old Chris Jericho and 21-year-old Nick Wayne.
The two stars went back and forth in the ring, kicking out of each other’s signature moves like The Codebreaker and Wayne’s World. The finish actually came down to Wayne’s puka shell necklace getting pulled off his neck by Jericho. The young prodigy was distraught over what happened to his prized possession, and that distraction allowed babyface Jericho to wrap him up for a three count.
The story wasn’t over there, as Wayne soon got his revenge. After rejecting Jericho’s helping hand and sign of respect, Wayne attacked the old man with the necklace and a steel chair to lay him out.
This feud must continue, folks.
