AEW Dynamite is live coming at you taped tonight (Aug. 26, 2026) from the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland, and tonight’s show is the go-home to Sunday afternoon’s All In London.
Advertised for tonight: Okay okay Death Riders are all about improving through competition so it’s not exploding in the classical Mega Powers sense, but all the same, Claudio Castagnoli and Jon Moxley will meet in Continental Challenge Cup semifinals action!
Plus, we get our other CCC semifinal as Kyle O’Reilly brings his deadly ankle lock to bear against Nigel McGuinness and his injured ankle, Swerve Strickland goes one-on-one with Jungle Man, we’ll hear from both Andrade el Idolo and Maxwell Jacob Friedman ahead of the Casino Gauntlet match they’ll begin on Sunday! And when the sun turns to snow and the grass doesn’t grow; don’t laugh I love you. I could look outside my window every day, but you wouldn’t be there to come out and play; Don’t laugh, I’m here to liveblog this here pro wrestling show for you, folks.
The show opens with Excalibur and Tony Schiavone welcoming us to the show and hyping up All In.
Will Ospreay makes his entrance and gets on the mic.
He lets the crowd sing for him a beat before starting in earnest, saying it’s been a year since he’s been here in Scotland and it’s been a long year full of doubt as to whether he’d be able to come back or to win the big one. People keep asking what it’s like to be a British wrestler vying for the most important title in wrestling, and to understand that you need to know what it’s like to be a British wrestler.
Long before New Japan Pro Wrestling, long before AEW, he’s been all over England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland making towns in the indies. You throw yourself in this ring on the beams and boards Friday to Sunday and look at your wage packet and it’s not enough to pay your rent so you wake up Monday and you go to work during the week at building sites.
He did that, all to fly the flag for the UK and to represent every fan from everywhere in the country to show everyone that the UK truly is where the best wrestle. A lot of people would have hated it, but he loved being in the foxhole with boys and girls following the same dream he wanted, learning from icons of British wrestling like Doug Williams, Mark Haskins, and Jody Fleisch, and representing the ones that aren’t here anymore like Kris Travis, Ryan Smile, and Scotland’s own Lionheart.
All this to prove that he’s the best and when you talk about being the best it’s hard to look past our AEW World Champion, Kenny Omega. Kenny’s not here tonight, but that’s fine, Ospreay knows he’s watching at home, but he wants him to know that there’s not a man alive respects Omega more than he does.
No one has been a better wrestler in this decade than Kenny Omega, and he’s fine with saying that. But all that respect went out the window the moment Kenny mentioned his son. “He needs a new hero after you lose” but that ain’t happening. He’s making promises– Sunday, you get the Billy Goat for sure. Sunday, Kenny Omega gets the match of his live. Sunday, that stadium leaves with memories of a lifetime. And he promises you don’t wanna fuck with a man looking after his boy.
There is a debt that needs to be paid, and it’s been waiting far too long. For the ones who saw him from the start, to the ones who are here now, to his mum, his dad, his wife and his boy, it is time to bring it home! And Omega is gonna help him show his boy that heroes are just ordinary people who can do extraordinary things.
This Sunday, he’s taking it all!
Jon Moxley makes his entrance ahead of our opening contest alone, followed separately by Claudio Castagnoli to get things going..
Claudio Castagnoli vs. Jon Moxley (Continental Challenge Cup Semifinals)
Test of strength, feeling out, Castagnoli gets him to the mat, one nearfall, another, wrenching Moxley’s hands to the mat for a third, he bridges up this time and Claudio breaks the bridge for a fourth! Back on their feet, Castagnoli gets him in the corner and Jon breaks dirty with a chop! Claudio returns the favor, walking and chopping, Mox with a full nelson for a beat and then slips him loose and fires off another chop!
Trading elbows in the middle of the ring, Castagnoli with a double leg, Moxley rolls over to block a pin! Back on their feet again, Claudio sends him to the floor with an elbow, Jon cuts him off on the floor with a double leg into a figure four leglock on the floor! Referee Paul Turner counting, Castagnoli breaks his grip, back to his feet, double leg of his own… GIANT SWING INTO THE BARRICADE!
Claudio breaks the count and we go to break!
