Swerve Strickland is paying the price for being the most dangerous man in AEW. Tony Khan fined and suspended Strickland for his conduct earlier this week on Dynamite.
In case you missed it, Strickland crossed the line when fighting Kenny Omega. First, he pulled referee Aubrey Edwards in front to take the brunt of Omega’s V-Trigger. After defeating Omega, Strickland tossed referee Paul Turner out of the ring. Strickland proceeded to violently assault Omega with a vertebreaker onto the commentary table.
During the main event of Collision (Feb. 21, 2026), commentary mentioned that Strickland faces sanctions for his conduct. Swerve has been fined $100,000 (one hundred thousand dollars). He is also suspended from appearing on this week’s Collision, which is the episode that just aired on Saturday night. Tony Schiavone delivered the news. He couldn’t believe the fine was that high, and he thought the penalty should be higher. Schiavone better watch his back when Swerve returns.
Strickland has not yet commented publicly on this punishment doled out by AEW.
