Kris Statlander and Thekla are going to get violent after StatDaddy chose the stipulation for the rematch. Get ready for a strap match!
Statlander will defend the AEW Women’s World Championship against Thekla on the February 11 edition of Dynamite. Thekla was granted the rematch in exchange for the Triangle of Madness staying away from the Babes of Wrath tag title defense over MegaBad. Statlander was allowed to choose the stipulation in the same deal.
Statlander graced the ring during Collision (Feb. 7, 2026) for a promo to say her piece. Before Statlander had a chance to speak, the Triangle of Madness ambushed her. Thekla, Julia Hart, and Skye Blue wore their burglar outfits for the sneak attack. Renee Paquette saw it coming and scurried to safety. Thekla speared Statlander, then Hart and Blue held Stat down to the mat for Thekla to whip her. Statlander took several lashes from Thekla’s belt. No matter which stipulation Statlander chooses, the end will be toxic. Thekla stood with the title over the champ. This is a brutal scene. Sound on to hear the snap of belt to back.
The Triangle of Madness felt cocky exiting up the ramp. Statlander grabbed the mic to name her stipulation to be a strap match, or a Straplander match to be more precise.
That scene went full speed ahead in a hurry. The violence from Thekla instantly produces more bad blood to make this rematch personal. One question though. Statlander was clearly inspired by the strapping she just received to make it the stipulation. My question is what was going to be her original plan. I’ll imagine that it was a monster truck fight.
