Watch: Alexander Skarsgård Flaunts “Extraordinary” Fake Nipples Worn for Wicker
Alexander Skarsgård’s Wicker costume has woven its way into his heart.
Well, specifically, two pieces of it.
Indeed, the Swedish actor praised the fake nipples included with his full-body basket-like suit for his character of the Wicker Husband in the fantasy comedy.
“The suit, like I said, was exquisite,” Skarsgård shared during a recent appearance on The Graham Norton Show. “The best part of the whole suit were the nipples.”
“They were extraordinary,” he continued. “It’s the craftsmanship.”
To further highlight his special costume accessory, Skarsgård pointed to his costar Olivia Colman, who plays his on-screen wife Fisherwoman.
“You saw it,” he told Colman. “You felt them. You squeezed them.”
But the Pillion actor brought up the fake nipples for a reason, joking that he felt a connection between the prop and host Graham Norton.
“Every day when I was wearing them,” Skarsgård recalled, “putting them on—you screw them on—I was thinking of you, Graham.”
“For some very, very bizarre reason,” he continued, “and I have them here today, and I want to give them to you.”
Indeed, Skarsgård proved he was totally serious, and grabbed a square box from under the coffee table.
To present the British TV personality with his gift, he jokingly got on one knee. Graham graciously accepted the nipples, before showing the prop to the camera.
And while Skarsgård no longer has the items from his costume in his possession, he will be able to hold the memory of bringing his jaw-dropping transformation to life.
In fact, the 50-year-old previously shared that he’d been waiting for such an opportunity before the film—out in theaters Oct. 30—came along.
“Most male actors dream of playing Hamlet at some point in their career. I never did,” Skarsgård told Entertainment Weekly in an interview published July 30. “My dream was always to have nipples made out of wicker.”

And while it wasn’t until two weeks before shooting Wicker that Skarsgård was able to finally put on the costume, it was worth the wait.
“It was amazing,” he told E! News in an Oct. 15 interview, “and it also helped me find the character, because up until that point, the Wicker Husband had only kind of existed in my head.”
“But to put it on and to feel the weight of it, and to kind of see how that informed the way I move,” Skarsgård added, “it was tremendously informative.”
