The definitive guide to American Express Global Dining Access by Resy

If you’re an eligible Amex cardmember, you have access to American Express Global Dining Access by Resy. This collection can net you savings at some of the world’s best restaurants and may even qualify you for your card’s U.S. Resy statement credit if it has one.

This isn’t a perk that’s often discussed, so it’s easy to forget about. Here’s what you need to know.

What is Global Dining Access by Resy?

Global Dining Access by Resy is a portfolio of restaurants worldwide that partner with Amex to offer top-tier cardmembers premium dining experiences at some of the best spots in town.

You can get prime restaurant reservations, even at venues that show as fully booked. Many of the restaurants have earned Michelin stars or are consistently ranked among the best in their respective cities.

While reservations aren’t always guaranteed, it’s always good to know you have this benefit in your back pocket. It could make the difference between snagging a seat at a bucket-list restaurant or missing out.

Which cards are eligible for Global Dining Access by Resy?

Since this is an exclusive perk for certain cardmembers, you’ll need to have one of the following cards:

Even if you don’t currently have one of those cards, you can still browse the list of restaurants and take note of places you may want to visit in the future.

*The information for these cards has been collected independently by The Points Guy. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.

How does Global Dining Access by Resy work?

The easiest places for cardmembers to access Global Dining Access by Resy and make a reservation are through the Resy app and on resy.com. Once an eligible Amex card is linked to your Resy account, you’ll see your Global Dining Access benefits in Resy. (Cardmembers can also call the Amex concierge to get this set up.)

Keep in mind that you’ll be subject to each restaurant’s cancellation policy, which varies by establishment.

Participating restaurants

Global Dining Access includes restaurants in the U.S., Italy and Peru. Only one city per country is currently featured for Italy and Peru. Not all American cities are covered by the program, but most major cities should have some participating restaurants.

As we mentioned earlier, this collection includes some of the world’s top restaurants, so you’ll definitely want to check out the full list on Resy’s site.

American Express Resy statement credit

Select American Express cards that have access to Global Dining Access by Resy also come with a statement credit for U.S. Resy purchases. These include:

By combining these two benefits, you can get a lot of value out of your next visit to a prestigious restaurant.

Bottom line

Whatever restaurant you choose, remember to use a card that earns you bonus points on dining.

Even though you’ll need to have one of the aforementioned cards to have Global Dining Access, you’re not required to pay for your meal with that card. In fact, you probably shouldn’t, as there are other cards available that earn more on dining purchases.

The only exception is if you’re using your eligible Amex card’s U.S. Resy statement credit, since you’ll need to pay with that card to take advantage of the credit.
