They’re Back! First Look Teaser for ‘Common Side Effects’ Season 2

“Marshall – what about our plan?” “Our answers are going to be found deeper in the portal.” Onward they go. 🍄 Marshall and Frances are back again for more trippy mayhem in the next season of this cult favorite animated series. Adult Swim is ready to premiere Season 2 of the series Common Side Effects, the cult fave indie animation series created by Joe Bennett & Steve Hely. This is a direct continuation of the very peculiar, trippy, one-of-a-kind series about this guy and a girl who discover a blue glowing mushroom that can heal people. But the Big Pharma guys come after them and get the DEA on them. In Season 2, Marshall and Frances are back on another new mysterious adventure with plenty of twists and turns. Voiced again by Dave King and Emily Pendergast, along with Matthew Maher heard in this footage. This teaser has some super funky imagery showing up already, and I am pumped because this series is awesome. Totally mind-bending. The first season is excellent and I highly recommend it if you haven’t watched yet. This looks like it’s going to get even weirder – playing on Adult Swim in early 2027. I can’t wait to watch this. Who else?

Here’s the first teasers for Adult Swim’s series Common Side Effects – Season 2, direct from YouTube:

“We remain committed to asking important questions, capturing life’s absurdity, telling surprising stories and, whenever possible, advancing our long-term mission of healing humanity through mysterious mushrooms. 🍄 So if you’re one of humanity’s ills, know this: your days are numbered.” –Creators Joe Bennett & Steve Hely

Common Side Effects is the story of Marshall Cuso (Dave King), a fungi scientist who discovers a special mushroom that can cure almost any human ailment, even death. Together with his friend Frances (Emily Pendergast), he wants to find a way to make the Blue Angel Mushroom widely available, but soon finds himself the target of groups who want to either suppress its existence or use it for their own ends. These include the pharmaceutical company Reutical, the DEA, perhaps others. Common Side Effects is a series created and written by Joe Bennett (creator & director on “Scavengers Reign”) & Steve Hely (comedy writer on “David Letterman”, “Veep”, “American Dad!”). Made by Bandera Entertainment and Green Street Pictures, with animation by Le Cube. The first season originally debuted in early 2025. Adult Swim releases Common Side Effects Season 2 episodes streaming on HBO Max + on Adult Swim starting January 25th, 2027 early next year. Catch up on the first part while we wait for the debut.
