WWE Money in the Bank 2026 predictions

Money in the Bank comes our way tonight (Oct. 10) from Smoothie King Center in New Orleans. WWE offers up “Countdown” pre-show that starts at 4 p.m. Eastern, then the premium live event itself begins at 6 p.m. ET — streaming HERE on ESPN Unlimited in the U.S., and on Netflix pretty much everywhere else.

Our regular motley crew of pro wrestling blowhards will be making predictions about every match on the card, and we’re joined by our first Guest Picker: SBNation’s Matt Warren. When he’s not dreaming about the one, true sport of professional wrestling, you can find Matt slumming it covering some upstart promotion called the National Football League in our NFL Feed. Check it out for some great conversation about this weekend’s games there, and if you are a “sportsball” fan, follow your favorite NFL team(s) while they are there. And with the SBNation app, it’s easy to swipe between communities — from Cageside to and your other teams or sports.

This premium live event is built around the titular ladder matches, and we devoted entire articles to discussing our picks for those. Join the Women’s Money in the Bank predictions convo here, and discuss Men’s Money in the Bank picks here.

But there are also two title matches booked for the card (and depending on tonight’s match order, both could conceivably feature or be followed by a cash-in), and more! Here, we’ll be picking those bouts.

Let’s get to it.

PREDICTIONS FOR MONEY IN THE BANK 2026

WWE World Heavyweight Championship: Roman Reigns (c) vs. LA Knight

DISCLAIMER: These picks were made before WWE announced this match would open the PLE.

Geno Mrosko: We are far removed from the idea that the Triple H run WWE would mean longer title reigns for the top champions, and more meaningful changes when they do happen. That leaves the door open for an interesting scenario whereby The 946 decide to really make a statement in their ongoing conflict with The Bloodline and cost Reigns his title here. He’s been fighting on a war on two fronts for some time now, and with what WWE has coming up on the schedule, it’s time to give him a bit more focus. That also serves the purpose of giving Knight a run with a major championship, even if it’s clearly a transitional run. There are only so many times you can have him flirt with it without delivering on it before it hurts his future drawing power. This could be the time. I don’t actually think they’re going to do it but if there’s a pitch to be made for it, there ya go. Pick: Roman Reigns

Sean Rueter: There are logical reasons to have Knight win here, and compelling options for where creative could go after he does. But I just think they’ll want a belt on him during any remaining Street Fighter press he does. Pick: Roman Reigns

Kyle Decker: If I were putting real monies on this, I’d obviously pick Roman. But I’m a big LA Knight guy, so I’m going to use this to talk myself into a Knight win. It’ll have to be because of 946 interference – costing Roman the title to set up the WarGames match. I also don’t see how Knight recovers from Monday’s promo if he then loses the title (which is going to be the reality he’ll have to figure out, but since I’m not putting real money on this…) Pick: LA Knight

Claire Elizabeth: There’s something about this one, yeah… Like I’m not going to be surprised by either man winning, or for that matter a complete breakdown no-contest as your result, courtesy of the 946. But it really does seem like it’s now or never for Knight, and while he’s not my favorite he’s SUCH a WWE-shaped peg for a WWE-shaped hole and I can’t help but feeling like it’ll be kind of a bummer if he never wins the big one, so between that and the aforementioned area code folks, I’m going for it. Pick: LA Knight

Cain A. Knight: LA Knight’s fate was sealed when WWE announced this world title match is opening the card. The best the megastar can hope for is a shitty disqualification win thanks to interference from 946 and The Bloodline, because Roman Reigns is absolutely not dropping the title to LA. It will be a tough pill to swallow for the most self-made man in WWE when Roman beats him with zero outside help. Pick: Roman Reigns

Marcus Benjamin: I always want more for LA Knight. But I want a lot of things that just won’t happen. There’s a larger issue here with every Roman Reigns title defense feeling like anticlimactic. There needs to be some suspense around him possibly losing the championship, yet there isn’t. Raw’s main event scene is a bit meh as a result. Pick: Roman Reigns

Jon Velez-Jackson: While WWE could do something interesting for once and have LA Knight pull out an upset win, we know they won’t. (Truth be told, I wanted Penta to be wearing that belt right now.) Roman is still the company’s guy, and that’s not going to change with Crown Jewel around the corner. Pick: Roman Reigns

Josh Jagler: The chances of LA Knight winning this one clean are slim to none, and slim just left town. I do think there is a non-zero chance that we see a 946 beatdown leading to either an LA Knight victory, or an immediate cash in after the fact. Forced to choose though, I just don’t see the Tribal Chief leaving Nawlins without the World Heavyweight Title. Pick: Roman Reigns

Matt Warren: As much as I wanted a Knight win a couple years ago, it would feel really forced right now unless we get the rumored 946 alignment and a heel turn. The new group does need another dude for the the War Games match, after all, and this would add a lot of edge to that. I can see a case for them to take the belt off Reigns in order to give Sammy a win at Crown Jewel because they aren’t worried about selling tickets. I actually think it’s more of a toss-up than it should be. Pick: Roman Reigns

WWE Women’s World Championship Triple Threat: Stephanie Vaquer (c) vs. Becky Lynch vs. Liv Morgan

Geno Mrosko: What will make this interesting is who wins the women’s Money in the Bank contract, assuming that match goes on before this. I would have to assume it does, because it gives it some of the intrigue it’s missing. Let’s say Roxanne Perez is holding the briefcase — that opens the door to a ton of interesting storyline possibilities. Either way, there’s potential here to waste no time on a cash-in. Otherwise, it’s a pretty basic triple threat that should probably see Vaquer continue her run. I’m assuming cash-in here, on her or Morgan just after she wins it. I’ll go with that. Pick: Liv Morgan, but then she loses it via cash in

Sean Rueter: They’ll been escalating tension between The Man and La Primera for a while now, probably in anticipation of having Lynch work a program with Vaquer they way she has with other rising stars like Morgan, Lyra Valkyria, and Sol Ruca. She doesn’t need it, but I don’t doubt they’ll give it to her again. Pick: Becky Lynch

Kyle Decker: I don’t see Vaquer losing the title any time soon. Liv had her run and Becky doesn’t need it. Pick: Stephanie Vaquer

Claire Elizabeth: It’s funny, doing predictions spread out like this I started spining up the ol’ storytelling engine for this on before remembering I need to make it agree with my pick for the women’s ladder match. So anyway, Dark Angel keeps her title here, yeah? Pick: Stephanie Vaquer

Cain A. Knight: This match isn’t happening in Chile, so it’s time to reset things back to where they were before Vaquer got the home country title win over Morgan. All the interference in the world is legal in 3-way matches, for some reason, so the Judgment Day can use the numbers game to make sure Liv walks out with the gold. Pick: Liv Morgan

Marcus Benjamin: I can’t see them taking the championship off of Stephanie so soon. However comma but there’s a chance they put it on her just for the moment in Chile knowing fully well she wouldn’t hold it this fall. I like Geno’s idea that Liv Morgan gets cashed in on immediately. Pick: Liv Morgan

Jon Velez-Jackson: I love Liv, but her title reign was a dud, and Becky has had her runs as champion. Stephanie Vaquer is still a star on the rise, and the longer she is still champion, the more her stock will rise. Pick: Stephanie Vaquer

Josh Jagler: I’m just not a huge fan of the idea of Stephanie losing the title so quickly after regaining it. My gut says that La Primera retains and feuds with Becky for the rest of the fall. Liv loses and comes to grips with her little Roxy being Ms. Money in the Bank and having a guaranteed title shot that she won’t have after this weekend. Pick: Stephanie Vaquer

Matt Warren: In the Women’s MITB match, I have Roxanne winning in order to cash in against Liv Morgan at Crown Jewel. In order to make that huge swerve in Riyadh, Morgan needs the belt back. It’s a triple threat match, which Michael Cole will no doubt say means there is no champions’ advantage and no disqualifications. Judgement Day interference is back at it. Pick: Liv Morgan

Singles match: Oba Femi vs. Bronson Reed

Geno Mrosko: I’m fully on board with the trajectory they have Femi on right now, and I think there are very few ways they could screw it up at this point. The guy is an unstoppable freight train from hell. One thing I like about what they’ve done so far, though, is they aren’t burying other people along the way. They’re walking that line of making one guy look good without making the other look like a chump. My one hope here is they don’t go too far and have Reed hit like 7 Tsunami’s just for Femi to kick out. They can either go with The Vision interference leading to a DQ and an absolute melee angle or let them run it straight up. I’d prefer the latter. Pick: Oba Femi

Sean Rueter: Big fan of Big Bad Bronson, but this isn’t the time or the spot for him to get a win. That doesn’t mean Femi has to though, at least not via pinfall or submission… Pick: Double count out, they must continuing clobbering one another at Crown Jewel (wherever it happens)

Kyle Decker: Love that Oba is running a gauntlet of hoss matches, but he’s not losing any of them. Pick: Oba Femi

Claire Elizabeth: Yeah I think Sean has the right of this one. Big ol’ real life Godzilla fight spills out of the ring, nobody can keep it under control, try again later with a stipulation. Pick: Double count-out, double DQ draw, or no-contest

Cain A. Knight: Oba Femi isn’t losing against anybody on PLE between now and WrestleMania 43 in Saudi Arabia. Pick: Oba Femi

Marcus Benjamin: This should be a lot of fun but seriously, this isn’t really worthy of a lot of thought. Pick: Oba Femi

Jon Velez-Jackson: I’m not sure there’s even a debate with this one. Pick: Oba Femi

Josh Jagler: I’m of the mindset that Oba Femi should not have his shoulders pinned once before he wins the World Heavyweight Championship, probably from Roman Reigns, and probably at SaudiMania. I also think The Vision is much more intriguing with Bronson Reed around. To thread the needle here, I bet Oba picks up a win after a brutal hoss fight, then gets jumped by Theory and Logan afterward, allowing Reed to hit Tsunami after Tsunami after Tsunami after… well, you get it. Pick: Oba Femi

Matt Warren: The only question is if Bronson Reed takes a pin or it’s a disqualification. I do like Sean’s double count out pick. Sign me up for mayhem and meat in this one. Pick: Oba Femi
