Watch: Kylie Kelce Shares Sweet Way Kids Have Bonded With “Aunt” Taylor Swift
Kylie Kelce is not gonna lie about how she navigates social media in the limelight.
The podcast host detailed how she’s become more private with what she shares online, explaining why she no longer posts photos of her and Jason Kelce‘s daughters Wyatt, 7, Elliotte, 5, Bennett, 3, and Finnley, 19 months.
“The shame of it is that when we had our first, I was not necessarily in the public eye,” Kylie shared on the Oct. 7 episode of The Squeeze podcast. “Obviously, I was married to my husband and he had a large following just because of football, but I didn’t have a bunch of random people following my account.”
At the time, Kylie—who married the former NFL star in 2018—shared that she “still very much used my Instagram specifically to post life updates” and “use social media exactly how anyone would use social media.”
“As life has gone on and things have changed, I post infrequently overall,” she continued. “I post even less frequently [of] our children.”
And more recently, Kylie decided to set a boundary for how she presents her daughters online.
“It got to a point where I didn’t want to exclude them entirely,” she recalled, but “I made it a point to stop putting their faces on my social media.”
And while the Not Gonna Lie host didn’t specify when she made this decision, the Kelce family’s notoriety notably grew in 2023 when her brother-in-law Travis Kelce began dating Taylor Swift.(The couple tied the knot in July.)
But Kylie also pointed to running into a “gray area” while shooting Jason’s 2023 Prime Video documentary, Kelce, which followed the then-Philadelphia Eagles player through the 2022-2023 NFL season.
“Our kids were included in that because, part of the decision, was surrounded by the impact it had on our family,” Kylie continued to Squeeze host Tay Lautner. “So, they were included in that, and that was really the turning point for me to understand that people can’t draw a line for themselves. I think that sometimes you have to very clearly draw it for them.”
The Webby Awards
As for how she feels about her daughters making appearances onscreen now, the 34-year-old said they’ll “occasionally pop up into a podcast,” but they aren’t featured in “social clips” and “never will” be involved with brand deals or sponsorships.
Ultimately, Kylie emphasized that their kids’ safety is what matters most to her and Jason.
“That’s always going to be the top priority,” she shared, “but part of the issue is people are going to see them. What are you going to do? Mask them? Leave them in the house?”
