Game Informer’s website and app crashed today amid the debut of its exclusive GTA 6 preview, creating chaos among fans.
Game Informer has released a 14-page cover story with all kinds of new information on GTA 6 today, but unfortunately fans are struggling to access it. The second the story went live, Game Informer’s website crashed. Just prior to the release of the coverage, it was confirmed that the story would be made free to all users through Game Informer’s app. As you might imagine, this led to the site being overwhelmed with traffic.
It took about an hour for users to start getting into Game Informer’s website so that they could read the story. It was chock-full of exclusive details, which we broke down here. Some of those details included confirmation that GTA 6 will feature tropical storms such as hurricanes, something that fans have been speculating about for quite some time.

Although there were a variety of GTA 6 previews earlier this summer, including one from IGN itself, there was more room to breathe. The previews dropped during Rockstar’s 27-minute gameplay reveal on Netflix, and there were a variety of outlets and creators with exclusive coverage. It allowed everyone to have some space, whereas this was just one outlet absorbing all of the attention from GTA 6 fans.
As of right now, we’re not sure when the next GTA 6 news beat will be. Rockstar has already teased that it will share more about the game’s radio stations and music in the coming weeks, and there’s hope from fans that we will get one last trailer before launch. Either way, GTA 6 is finally just a little over one month away from launch.
